A Seed in the Desert

When we are sent out to find the seed in the desert, overwhelm starts our voyage and confusion determines our way. In our self-seeking of one seed in a world of deserts, many stop, before they begin. Who in their right mind would search for a seed in the infinite sands of all the deserts? (more below)
Surely along one’s way, there will be sand storms, lack of water, little to eat and lifetimes of searching. Again, who would undertake such a journey and why? For a single seed? And, who would not become lost in all the sands in all the deserts? Who would not forsake this trek for a lifetime respite in a rare oasis in the middle of an endless sea of sand? Yes, you are right, as most of us, if not all of us would stop and live our lives in the shade and the gifts of a paradise in the lost sands of time. Last, who sent us on this endeavor of finding a seed and why were we told the seed was cast into the dunes of the desert?
Our lives are living within the illusions of a paradise in our trek to our seed. Instead of us searching for that seed, our seed, ourselves, we have taken up residence in our oasis and now peddle our wares, drink of our profits and live in our perceived successes. Our days, “Thank God,” are no longer spent within the desert’s sirocco, but under palms with figs and wine. Thank God for the things we have and the sands we do not.
A seed, a tiny seed in the desert? Why is this seed of mustard important to me? Why, when I have all the food and water and more, would I spend my time in search of a single seed?
This seed you see, is not just any seed, nor is it even a mere mustard seed. This seed that we were told was over there, no, there it is, no, that is just another grain of sand. Hmmmm. This seed is the seed of God, us, you or me. This seed we wanted to find but became lost and lazy in our search of, is the answer to our questions and our prayers. But, this is too hard, the sand in my eyes, the dryness in my throat, the blisters upon my lips and feet are too hard to bear, but, Thank God for the oasis in which I now reside. Thank God.
The seed you once thought was necessary; you replaced with water and wine, figs, breads and meat, phones and cars, homes and all of man’s trinkets. Yes, we spend time with God, on Saturdays, Sundays, maybe on Wednesdays or through our good works, and in so, we are content without that elusive seed, somewhere out there.
Who wants a damned seed anyway. I have figs and dates, meat and the manna of man. I am happy, so leave me now with the talk of seeds in the sand. Leave me to my gluttonous enjoyment of the fruits of the earth, and to hell with the talk of seeds.
We have arrived at our time, here and now, who we have become, our living within our worldly fruits, but too, suffering the cycles of joy and pain, day and night, good and evil. Here we are comfortable when we sleep through our darkness, when evil is seen somewhere but here, when the suffering stand alone on the corners of our oasis and lost in their deserts.
Yes, though there is my suffering of yesterday and tomorrow, my figs and wine are good in the now and in this, I rejoice in my contentment. Our lives right now, our course is set, for we seek no more and live within all that the oasis, the world provides, and so, we are content. In this, we never come to know the seed we once searched for, nor its reason for being.
I will share this with you, the reason you became lost and gave up looking for a seed in a desert. The seed you once knew, was never in some far away desert, nor lost in the endless sands of deserts or time. The seed you looked for, was you.
Yes, you are the seed of the mighty redwood, the grain of the mustard, the seed of God. You were told to look over there, amid those pebbles of sand, in the dunes, beyond the mountains and seas, for it was known you would give up and become lost in the banquets of the flesh. It was known that you knew not what you do and in that, you would cease to find you. Only a very few, and maybe those of you who choose to see beyond over there, to you within, will ever find God’s seed buried deep within the most fertile of soil, you.
Those who believe they are not of the seed of God, who say that the seed of a redwood will never be a whole redwood but only 50% of a redwood, you too are lost in an oasis of deception and lies. You are the seed of God, and in being the seed of God, you must nurture you, not the weeds and the wheat, but the seed of God, who you are; for if you don’t, you are barren and are of little use, and become just a seed in a desert. ~ I Am - Wisdom
