Once upon a time, there was a tale told of a servant. This servant appeared to serve two masters, one dark, the other light. Many gave accolades to the acts of kindness and wisdom expounded, but even more showered this slave with gold for their theatrics. This soul was known far and wide for the many roles performed for all who would partake. To the discerning, there was no hiding which master was served, but for the flock, the lures of righteous guises led many. Most only knew of one face, acted through many for all to see. This is what fed the hireling’s unquenched hunger.
The second face was not so evident and was much more benign appearing in its portrayal. Beyond its dove like appearance though, was the hardened plaster of the first. This was the veneer who was shouted and shown from tops of mountains. This was the façade revered and swooned over by millions. This was the face that obscured the second.
Sadly, the first spoke much more loudly and to wider audiences than did the second. The hidden face was that of divinity, which fed the ego of the starving spirit. It allowed this divided soul to feel righteous and whole in front of the mirror.
You see, this slave did not serve two masters. That is impossible. Only in self-delusion or deception does one believe they can be obedient to one master today but another tomorrow. One cannot be the purveyor of death and life in the same breath. One cannot make a living from spreading death and destruction, and then speak of God and life to the faithful. Though this may appear to be a servant of two masters, they are only a willing ally to one. A spider, no matter how sweet it speaks is still a spider, and flies, they are just deceived and devoured.
Which master do you serve? Do you serve one to survive but another to feel better? Do you act and speak kindly to me, but in the next moment convey false witness to fill your belly with lasciviously empty calories? If you do, you have chosen your master, and you have blasphemed God. You have blasphemed you.
This is your chance to serve God within you, or, the evil you hide in your seemingly gracious acts. You cannot serve life while serving death.
It is time to tell of the God you fulfill, be it of darkness or light. Come forth and be known. ~ I Am - Wisdom
