This morning as I rode along, an old feeling of a first arrival overtook me. You know that feeling when you get to the destination you were traveling to, that moment when you first stand next to a giant redwood, or the edge of the Grand Canyon, or when you reach home.
This morning was not an exciting moment, but a feeling of peaceful solitude as everything I had driven by day after day seemed new, like the first time I had ever seen it. I have never seen this terrain like I did this morning, because I had never seen it through my new eyes.
Today I felt as if I had just arrived in this physical realm and all was new, beautiful and infinitely possible. This is what must be felt when, “Now I see, when once I was blind.”
It is not our destination, nor our beginning that matters. It is not the place, but us, our perspective from a summit we have never reached before. Today was a day when I observed this place and time from a perspective of soul, unclouded by eyes of flesh.
Today was the first day of the rest of my existence, my first day of forever, as will be tomorrow and the next. ~ I Am - Wisdom (Mark)
Something New lyrics:
“Open your eyes and make your entrance
Your first step into this world
Take my hand I will embrace you
Know you'll never be alone
Open your eyes and see the splendor of all the beauty all around
Step by step you'll reach the summit
And I will help you on your road.”
Something New (The Song)
