I’ll Wait Here...
I know you haven’t explored enough yet, you haven’t lifted the stones within. You’re still learning what you are made of, digging and searching for who you admire, yourself.
So, Go! Go find all the treasures of yourself. Scratch and claw your way through the mud, fall in and out of love a hundred times. Go break your heart wide open and feel the sting of giving up on your biggest dreams. There is no shame in changing direction. Just never settle, never wed the status quo.
I will not trail you, however. I refuse to club anyone over the head with my heart. I know love comes in its time and we are just two worn wheels who won’t always travel together. The journey you are on, I too am on. I’m just in a different place, just a little further along.
I’ll wait here...
And when you find what it is that you are looking for in yourself, bring it to me please, so I can show you how I found those things in you, even before you could.
And, maybe then, the timing will be right for us to live and love together.

Adapted and edited from a writing of unknown origin. When a friend shared the original writing with me, it felt wrong, so I shelved it. Today when I awakened, words came to me and I revised the writing, corrected mistakes, added photos and adapted it to those who have suffered loss and who are waiting for the loves of their life to return upon finding themselves. For those of us in wait, we know the pain and still we wait from the knowing of the joy we felt.
