From this sad meme by the Church of Christ, a different perspective…
From the above meme, I do not see God but ego, fear, and self-righteousness cloaked in lamb’s clothing. God, nor the Son of God, needs us to cast stones in their stead. We have been asked to live as God, and in that, we grace and love all that we come across. In our living as much of God as we can, we pray for others and sow in the name of God, as did Yeshua. We do not condemn from our tiredness, nor do we perpetrate the same things done to us, and we do not speak against the lost. If we are to speak, let it be for the lost, for and from God, not from anger, ego, fear or frustration.
Are we not to plant seeds and keep on sowing? Are we not to shed grace, love, and prayer for the lost? Our attention is to be on bettering ourselves, working on our flaws and sins, while sowing as we go along. It is the choice of others as to their destination, which, if chosen over living all that God has given, is their repercussion. God, nor the message of God, needs defending, just our giving it, along with our grace to all others.
As has been said, “If the devil cannot make us bad, he will make us busy.” It is not, nor has it ever been them, those and they that we are to correct, but each and only ourselves, as we are the only soul who we have dominion over, and can change.
This meme from the Church of Christ, tells the story of the writer of the meme and the church, for it speaks not from Christ - God, but as, and from the devil’s speak of fear and self-righteousness.
God has asked us to love and extend grace to the lost, to encourage, nurture, and pray for them in their living within all that God is, not to speak “against” them. It is we who should pray not only for those criticizing God and the life of God but also for those caught up in defending what does not need defending, for both are lost. Lighten the dark. Do not darken the dark. ~ Mark
Upon posting this writing, I was asked a question as to why I chose some of the words I used. This is why.
God, sin, devil, evil, tree, rock, sky, and all the other labels we attach are merely to communicate to specific audiences. This note came from my comment I left on the church's page. For different audiences, I may use the word "universe" for God, or other words to convey to that particular audience. For me, there are no finite words that describe the infinite, but yet, I must speak with concepts that others are familiar with, and can understand through our limited conceptual understandings, learned beliefs, and what we allow ourselves to accept.
I see the devil as one side of the same coin, a coin that I learn from both sides. Sin, on the other hand, has been misused to lift some in the casting down of others. Sin is specific in meaning, and not to be used carelessly, which is much of the time. Personally, sin is something observed by the highest point of view, and seen not necessarily by our perspective, though we throw that stone often. There is a reason I delineated between flaws and sins, for they are different. Sin is something that keeps others away from all that they are, from allowing God into them and keeps them away from God. Now, from our ego, our fears, and judgments, we label much as sin, which it is not. If I were to tell someone they cannot be one with God, for whatever reason, that would be a sin, as it pushes them down and away from who and what they are, part of God.
Additionally, the word devil that I used was from a Corrie ten Boom quote. However, it is not the devil, but us who busy ourselves with the petty, the trivial and the worldly that keeps us from connecting with God and living our authentically pure selves. Sadly, one should never need to explain these matters, for we each know within ourselves, the truth. Be careful in asking or challenging, for it can speak of you and your refusal to know what is known.
If you do not see the well, then you do not see the well, and your thirst will not be quenched. Now is the time to seek the well of life.
