Lost and Found - A Journey of Joy
During times of my life, I found myself lost in mesmerizing activities. It was during these times that time stopped, that everything else stopped, and when I found myself lost in the moments of joy and creation. Truly, these were the only times that life felt right - wholly, and holy encompassing, entangled, yet free. If our lives are arduous and feel tortuous, we are not living, but dying.
Life is to be lived and rejoiced, not merely endured. This is the difference between doing human things for the destination, or spiritual things in the journey of joy. We each have the choice to live and accomplish other's dreams, or simply live our dreams. There is a difference between living joyfully, being joyful, and everything else. Do not let the world tell you how you are to live, how to be, in their eyes. You, and only you, know when life is right, when you are preciously, and joyfully Being You. This is how life is supposed to be. Starting now, step from the drudgery or false gold of the world, and into the Life of You.
God knew what God was doing. Be faithful, trust in you, and live beyond confining worldly edicts and mirages you never catch. And, if you find yourself in a mind-numbing job, look for God in you, in the job (within and all around), and no, I'm not talking about some white-robed person. When we live within divinity, there is no division between God and us, and there is purpose, reason and joy in even small moments. Look for these tiny moments, be they in a child's joyful eyes, a moment photographing a flower, the hug someone or you needed, or anything where joy lives.
Joy is Life. Life is Joy. Again, if you are not joyful, you are not living.
Now, for a joyful moment and endeavor in my life, one that whisked, and still whisks me away to being joyfully lost, yet found.
Gentleman's Study
During my film work career, a particular roll, or job I loved was, "location scouting". Not only did it pay decently, along with all expenses, but I spent hours doing what I loved; talking to people, and photographing anything and everything. From searching for old shacks, sand dunes, to oil rigs, mansions, or specific rooms, and anything else you can imagine, the diversity made the job awesomely fun, never arduous or boring, and always joyful.
In this photograph, is a gentleman's library, or study, housing precious treasures; paintings, books, a bar and fireplace, and one of the many carousel horses he had handcrafted. Most importantly, however, for this soul, was a peaceful place for reflective solitude.
Note: We each have a place that we can retreat to from time to time, a place of respite, a place, be it physical or spiritual where we can let go and just be peacefully us. Cherish the time spent in your place. Let go of the world, quiet yourself, and Be. ~ Mark
