We have been taught that what we see, hear, smell, and feel is what is real, what exists. We believe that our actions are what determine our future, just as ants have, through their societies, do what they are supposed to do; collect food, make babies, fight for territory and, build castles.
Virtually, every book, every scholar, every person of notoriety, and most parents pronounce to us, go out and make your life. Dream and fight every inch for what you want; success is in your hands. As do ants, we go about our business. We, most of us, wake up, shower, get dressed, eat, and off we go, living our busy little lives. And, just as the queen reaps from her worker’s toil, so do those for whom we drudgingly work. Yes, we get to eat, we have a place to rest, we make new little workers and we, unlike ants, party on Fridays, tidy up our abodes on Saturday and rest on Sunday. We, because we have cars, televisions, phones and our little castles, believe we are living the good life, that we are free. Maybe we are free, but that is from our eyes, we who see from our tiny hills; not from outside our forests. We see trees and more trees, babbling brooks, butterflies and the like, but all that spectacular beauty lies out there, somewhere. It is easy to become enamored and lost in all that the world has to offer. Honestly, though, who cares, for we make our lives what they are, and we have what we have made.
Some, however, looked beyond their shores and reached for more, for something they could not see, smell, or touch. Others reach for the stars, and some reach beyond conventional thought, who work every day to prove that there is more than what we cling to so dearly. We rejoice in their accomplishments, but after our moment of bedazzled joy, we go back to our day-to-day grind. We, too, have our adventures, our hikes, our experience of nature, of drives with our radios turned up, our beer, our wine, and our steaks. Someone is born, someone dies, we lose our money, we win the lottery, it snows, we have a day away from our toil. Yes, life is an adventure, but, then, we feel empty again, so we buy something, we date a new person, we get a new car, or we go on an exotic vacation. Wow! Life again, at least for a while, was joyful, but then, our cup no longer runneth over, it is empty once more. But, what the hell. That is life. Right?
Now, Buddha, Yeshua, Krishna, Mohammad, Tolle, Watts, Chopra, or someone you have never heard of comes into your life, and says, there is more. They say, beyond the rise and fall of the tides, beyond life’s ups and downs, and the castles we build, lies peace and joy that never ends. While many will go back to living their ant lives, some will pause, some will look beyond the walls and reasons they believed they needed. Some will run out and buy books, and some will meditate, some will pray. Others will run off to help the world, but some will quiet themselves from the busy world around them, from their fears and thoughts. Those few who are willing to sequester themselves away from the world will start to hear and feel what cannot be heard with ears or felt by touch. These souls will begin to be beyond the world and all of its lures, and they will understand, and know, and they will be what they could never see.
I tell you true, there is more; there is joy and peace beyond castles and momentary riches. Beyond loves in our life, beyond comfortable beds, fed bellies, and illusions of feeling powerful or right, there is you and me, we perfect precious souls. At this moment, you have a choice; live the life you have been living, or, peek over that castle wall and experience everything else. I hope you take a look, and I hope you choose the adventure of you.

Spirit of Family
Spirit of Family
When one grows spiritually and becomes more than the flesh once seen as ourselves, our universe changes. Our evolution is more than just a fad of connection. Family is more than blood. As we grow, our family becomes more than worldly definitions and perceptions. More so, we become less dependent on others for our beingness. We, too, become more of other…

Look No Further Than The Sodom & Gomorrah Within, For What We Build Outside - Is From What We Build Inside. Today, I found myself talking to those who wallow in the mire of their discontent. While my motive was positive, my pause to look back and chatter with those on the rungs below could have turned me to salt.
