As you may have noticed, I have not posted much as of late. I want to let you know that life has changed for me, but I am well and growing more each day.
The reason I have been away, is that I had to go back to work in order to provide for those in my life and for me. I was hired by a store, Dollar General, doing what I haven’t done in nearly 50 years. I am a clerk and cashier, a server to others. It has been quite an enlightening step back into the world. I am being introduced to new technology that I didn’t even know existed. Life has changed during my absence in everyday worldly matters.
However, the reason I am writing this is not about me, but those I am meeting and observing everyday. The world has and is changing, in many ways, not for the betterment of us, nor itself. There is however, sparkles of light, of hope from the customers I have been blessed to meet and observe. Specifically, I see God’s magnificence and grace in many that come into the store. I could mention many instances, but I will highlight some to make my point. From little children with twinkles of life in their eyes and curiosity, to older people, and those with little, to beautiful souls doing beautiful works, I want to take a moment to witness for these unknown, but precious images of God.
Over the last week, I saw God’s grace emanating from what some may think, was improbable. Just a day ago, I spoke with a man, who instead of mowing yards, spent his day helping another older gentleman get his car repaired in the store’s parking lot. And, yes, he spent all day working on this other man’s pickup. Several times I also watched customers or staff chip their own money in to help others out who did not quite have enough money to purchase their meager items. Just tonight, a beautiful older lady could not find what she wanted, and that was no longer available in the size she could afford. As she was walking out, a young man who was at the self-checkout called to her. As she turned around, he handed her the larger, more expensive item that he just purchased for her. This is what we, the world needs now. Not too long after that, a gentleman was caught shoplifting a small item. Now, some would say getting caught for stealing was the proper thing to do, and you may be right. Ah, but then, two of God’s best, two women stepped up and truly did God’s work. One of the women purchased the item and gave it to the man. Another woman, who also saw the man trying to steal something, bought food and a drink for the man. All was settled and well. No one stole anything, but everyone there was given something precious, Grace.
Dollar General normally caters to many who are less fortunate, to those who walk to the store or drive older cars in poorer condition. I ask this, who is less fortunate, those who do nothing but have more, or those who have less and are given God’s grace by those graced by God’s love?
If we are to make it, if we are to subdue evil, it is from our grace and love to others that we will do so. We, you and I, and them, are all God’s precious children. It is you who are walking me home, and it is me who is walking you home. We are all walking each other back to our true essence, and God’s image.
Each and everyday, we are the answer or the problem. Be the answer.
If no one had the chance today to say they love you, I do. I love you. You are the most beautiful soul ever imagined by God. You are precious and wondrous beyond your wildest dreams.
Starting now, help someone get home to God. Be the graceful answer you were intended to be. God Bless You, Each and All. ~ I Am - Wisdom
Oh, I want you to listen to this song again, and then, Imagine.
"everyone there was given something precious, Grace."
