The Burden We Carry is Our Gift as Well
For many, it is necessary to confront the evils of this world in order to not pretend everything is okay. I wish it was not this way, but as evidenced by the actions of many, it is needed for them so they cannot turn away and convince themselves that all is okay and good.
As I was one of those who pretended, I know from my own complicity and from what I see every day that until we experience and accept the truth, we will not change. I have been beaten down by my own complicit sins and my heart is broken. The tears running down my face evidence that a new and needed change has entered my life.
It is sad that it takes such a view of horrible things in life to change people, but very many talk about change without looking at where they currently are. One must know where to begin and how far down we have gone to know where to start each of our changes. For without knowing where to start, one may wonder aimlessly not knowing which way is up or down.
The cross we bear is needed for us to change and help those who cannot or will not see. It is both our blessing and our curse to be part of those who see and can teach. That we must see the extent of evil to change is very sad, but through discernment and our journeys toward the good, we can rejoice in our progress to be what we want, our essence.
We are saddened when we see pain and death, and yet we turn away to alleviate our pain. Yes, this mitigates our pain, but does nothing to stop the pain from that which we turn ourselves away from. I do not wish to carry the pain from what I see and experience, but I cannot bear the pain that exists by turning away from the ones feeling their pain. We cannot change the wrongs without knowing and feeling what they are to others. How can we repair something without knowing what is wrong with it? How can we even speak of, motivate or advise, if we know not the plight of the downtrodden. Would we listen to and heed wisdoms shared by those never having endured our sufferings, never having lived our perspectives?
There have been many who have carried heavy loads for the gift of change. We are stronger than we know, and when we become overwhelmed, we have each other and our convictions. I ask all people to request the strength needed to carry our burdens for the sake of change and goodness. Once again, One Who Gathers Tribes, thank you for your help during these times.
