THE POWER OF ETERNAL LOVE
From a story I shared, March 31, 2018. To read this short beautiful love story, click the image or link below. Though this writing is not mine, it was too beautiful not to share again.
THE POWER OF ETERNAL LOVE
“After Mary Magdalene visited Jesus' tomb on the morning of the Resurrection, she notified the disciples that Jesus' body was gone. The disciples came and then left to spread the word while she lingered behind at the empty tomb, weeping, too overwhelmed to move. At that moment, Jesus appeared to Mary—the first time He appeared to anyone post Resurrection—and told her, ‘Go and tell my brothers...’
It was not accidental that Jesus appeared to Mary before the others. He could have visited one of his male disciples, but it was Mary he chose to come to first.
Why did Jesus wish to first be seen by Mary? Could it have been that in that instance the others wouldn't have known Him?
Jesus didn't show Himself as the person everyone would recognize. Mary herself thought He was the gardener of the grounds—until He said her name.
Mary's recognition of Jesus in that moment came from inside—not from her outer senses—which was something Jesus wanted to show her in an ultimate action of love. He knew that in that instance she would have the ability to "know" Him through the power of Her soul's eternal love.
Easter says you can put love in a grave, but it won't stay there...
Wishing you peace, love, and joy at Easter and beyond!
Blessings and light,
Mary”
